First day in ETH Denver

--

I will share three posts sharing my thoughts and experiences every day I’ve spent in the most relevant cryptocurrency event worldwide: ETH Denver 2023. It was a two-week-long event full of insightful industry takeaways, hackathons, and people mad about the block!

Wow, what an incredible first day at ETH Denver! The energy was palpable from the moment I walked into the conference center. I started the day by attending the Tachyon Consensus Mesh party, where I enjoyed a delicious burrito and had the opportunity to mingle with people from Celo, Tachyon, entrepreneurs, and ChainLink. It was great to connect with so many individuals in the industry and hear about their experiences with blockchain technology.

After the party, I explored the various booths and exhibitions. One of my favorite stops was the Aragon booth. I had a great conversation with their Dev Relations team and learned about their work on decentralized organizations. Hearing about the tools they’re building to help people manage decentralized communities and their challenges was fascinating. The team was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their work, and they were clearly making a real impact in the industry.

Another booth that caught my attention was the ENS booth. I’ve been following their work for some time and seeing their latest significant developments. I grabbed some swag, including a cool sticker. I learned more about their mission to make using human-readable names easier than long, complicated addresses in the Ethereum ecosystem. It was clear that the team was making real progress toward this goal, and I was excited to see their impact on the ecosystem.

One of the highlights of the day was the gaming section of ETH Denver. I had a blast playing some Web3 video games in the Year of the Spork. It was amazing to see how blockchain technology enables new games and experiences, and I’m excited to see where this space goes. The team behind the gaming section did a fantastic job creating a fun and interactive environment that showcased the potential of Web3 gaming.

The best part of the day was the networking. I met so many incredible people doing exciting research, product management, development, and more in Layer2s (Optimism, Arbitrum, Q, Polygon), Layer 1 (Celo, Quai, Scroll, etc.), and Ethereum Mainnet. It was insightful to hear about their experiences and perspectives on the industry. I had the opportunity to talk to people from various companies, including Celo, ChainLink, Tachyon, and more. It was great to hear about their different approaches to solving space problems and learn from their successes and failures.

I also had the opportunity to attend some fascinating talks and panels throughout the day. One of the talks that stood out to me was about the future of Layer2s. The speakers did a great job breaking down the various Layer2 solutions that are currently available and discussing the trade-offs of each. It was clear that there is a lot of innovation happening in this space, and it was exciting to see the potential for Layer2s to improve the scalability and usability of the Ethereum ecosystem.

Overall, my first day at ETH Denver was a huge success. I came away feeling energized and inspired by the incredible work happening in the blockchain industry. I’m excited to see what the rest of the conference has in store, and I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and connect with others in the space.
